Why the Whistle Means it’s Working

Even with the best seals, ultra-fine dust and moisture can still find their way into compartments. This is where STI’s cabinet pressurization provides a critical advantage by forming an active barrier. STI uses an interior fan to create a slightly higher pressure inside the cabinet compared to the outside environment. Dust and moisture are pushed out, rather than allowed in. And if water does attempt to seep through the seal, the positive pressurization helps blow it back out. Better yet, the air drawn into the fan is filtered for further cleanliness.

On STI’s 9- and 11-foot bodies, a single fan provides this helpful pressurization [...]

The third week of September marks National Construction Appreciation Week, a time to recognize the hardworking men and women who literally build our communities. From roads and bridges to schools and hospitals, construction workers shape the infrastructure that keeps our world moving.

Did you know?

  • The construction industry employs over 7.9 million people in the U.S. alone.
  • Service trucks and cranes play a crucial role on nearly every jobsite, delivering tools, parts, and heavy-lift capabilities exactly where they’re needed.
  • Mobile service trucks equipped with cranes help keep projects running by reducing downtime, providing on-the-spot repairs, and handling critical lifts in tight spaces.

We see firsthand how important these machines are to the success of construction crews. But the real credit belongs to the people—operators, laborers, engineers, and tradesmen.

Thank you for your long hours, hard work, and commitment to building a stronger future for all of us.

The Big, Beautiful Bill that was passed by congress in July and signed into law on the 4th of July has the potential to have some big, maybe beautiful, impact on work truck owners and fleets. There are several provisions that encourage investment and offer tax savings – especially for US-manufactured equipment. However, there are some sectors, most notably clean and renewable energy, that may experience slowdowns due to the discontinuation of incentives. This could hamper investment in those projects.

When adding the potential effects of US tariff policy, the next few years could bring some uncertainty. Increased costs for imported raw materials, components, and finished goods will likely result in higher costs for manufacturers that may slow some purchasing decisions.

What are the key provisions of the bill that you should [...]

This May marks a major milestone at Service Trucks International—35 years of manufacturing and selling Tiger Cranes. What began as a bold move to secure a reliable crane supply has evolved into a legacy of strength, innovation, and craftsmanship. From humble beginnings to hitting a monumental 10,000-unit milestone this April, Tiger Cranes has become a recognized leader in the service crane industry—and we’re just getting started.

Tiger Cranes was born in 1989 when Service Trucks International, Ltd. (STI) purchased the assets of Pacific Crane of Oregon. The goal? Ensure a steady crane supply for our custom-built service bodies. Early on, cranes mounted on STI truck bodies carried the STI brand, while “loose” cranes sold to other truck body builders were branded as Tiger Cranes. That first year, four models launched—2k, 3.5k, 6k, and [...]

STI has completed a significant upgrade in its paint department with the installation of a new Accudraft bake oven, part of an ongoing commitment to increasing efficiency and streamlining production.

Installed in line with the existing paint booth, the fully insulated bake oven measures 40 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 14 feet high. It reaches 180 degrees Fahrenheit in under 10 minutes and cures freshly painted service truck bodies and parts in just 45 minutes. The system recirculates 90% of the heat it generates, helping to minimize natural gas usage and reduce emissions.

The STI paint team can now move freshly painted bodies and parts racks from the paint booth right to the oven, immediately freeing up the paint booth for the next project. Before this new Accudraft oven addition, the paint booth served as both a painting and baking space, limiting the amount of [...]
